Marywood is also guided by the belief that recreational opportunities are vital to the collegiate experience. Thus we offer diverse opportunities in this area including a varied selection of more than forty intramural programs and a variety of fitness, aerobic, martial arts, and recreation classes.

Our facilities complement these athletic and recreational opportunities. Opened in the Fall of 2006, the Mellow Center for Athletics and Wellness includes a 5,000 square-foot fitness center, a rock-climbing wall, the 1,500-seat Insalaco Arena with an elevated running track, two classrooms for Health and Physical Education, a Dance/Aerobic Studio, a Hall of Fame/Conference room, an Athletic Training room and Athletic Training Lab, as well as eight locker rooms. The Athletic Department also has a 25 meter swimming pool and racquetball courts within the former Health & Physical Education Center, now known as the School of Architecture.  Plans are underway for a new Aquatics Center, with construction beginning in November 2009 with a targeted completion date of November 2010.  As evidence of our commitment to sports, we recently developed two new multipurpose athletic fields. Additional outdoor facilities include tennis courts, a running course, a sand volleyball court, basketball courts, horseshoe pit, and soccer field.

Marywood's Athletic Facilities can be rented by outside groups and organizations.  You may review costs and complete and return the facilities reservation form, both available below (as pdf downloads).
