Scranton, PA - Sidney Tharpe matched his season high point total with a 29 point performance, 23 of which came in the first half, and Lenny Martin grabbed a career-best 13 rebounds as Marywood University won their second straight with a 93-75 win over visiting Centenary College Thursday evening in Scranton. The Pacers, who stand at 7-13 and 4-10 in CSAC play, connected on 52% of their shots from the floor and out-rebounded the Cyclones (8-12, 6-7) 50-31 on the night.

The visitors would jump out to a 8-1 lead thanks to a two three-pointers from Rob Urie, but Marywood, who trailed 22-15 at the 12:30 mark, used a 9-0 run to reclaim a 24-22 lead. The two teams traded leads for the rest of the first half with the Pacers going into the break with a 45-41 lead. Tharpe (Victorville, CA) poured in 23 first-half points on 8 of 16 shooting from the floor. The senior was also a perfect 7-for-7 from the line in the first half. Urie netted 15 for the Cyclones in the opening stanza, connecting on 5 of 7 from the floor, including 3 of 4 from long-range.

The Pacers used a 9-3 run to extend their lead to ten (54-44) with 16:34 remaining, and the Cyclones would only cut the lead to single-digits on three occasions the rest of the game, the last of which was an nine-point Pacers lead (64-55) with 12:45 left. Marywood went back up by double-digits on a James Lavan (Plains, PA) three and would go up by as much as 25 (86-61) on a pair of John Foreman (Sleepy Hollow, NY) free-throws.

Martin (Wilkes-Barre, PA) grabbed 13 boards on the night in 29 minutes of action. Tharpe was joined by Lavan and D.J. Strayhorn (Henryville, PA) in double-figures as both freshman poured in 13 points. Urie finished with 23 for Centenary while Ludner Innocent added 12.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when the Pacers host Philadelphia Biblical University at 3:00 pm.
