Aston, PA – Marywood University women’s basketball player Amanda Lass has been named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honor Roll for the week ending January 24th. The senior forward averaged 15.3 points in the Pacer wins and became the ninth Marywood player to score 1,000 points for her career in a win over Cedar Crest College on Thursday evening.
Lass (Montrose, PA) 12 points in Marywood’s 67-33 win over Baptist Bible College on Monday evening, then recorded a double-double on a game-high (tie) 18 points, including the 1,000th of her career, and a game-high 14 rebounds in a 76-53 win over Cedar Crest on Thursday. Lass connected on 8 of 10 shots from the floor in the win over the Falcons while converting a pair of free throw attempts to become the ninth Marywood women’s player to reach the 1,000 point milestone.
The Montrose Area High School graduate followed up her historic night with a game-high 16 points in Saturday's 64-27 win over Rosemont College as Marywood completed a 3-0 week against conference opponents.
Lass shot 59 percent from the floor for the week and 88 percent from the free throw line while moving into 8th place on Marywood's all-time scoring list with 1,025 career points.
Lass is the third Marywood player to receive weekly honors from the conference this season, as Mariah Schaeffer (Bainbridge, NY) was named the CSAC Player of the Week for the week ending December 6th while Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) was named to the Honor Roll a week later.
Marywood is traveling to Centenary College to take on the Cyclones in a key CSAC North battle scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 p.m. in Hackettstown, NJ.
