Scranton, PA - Marywood University standout women's soccer players Lisa Hanselman and Andrea Barker have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Region team in an announcement made today by the NSCAA.  Hanselman was named to the Mid-Atlantic's Second Team and was the highest honored CSAC player while Barker was named to the Third Team to become the first repeat honoree in program history.

Hanselman, a senior from Manheim, Pennsylvania, closed out her playing career in impressive fashion earning All-Region honors for the first time.  Hanselman was named the 2009 CSAC Women's Soccer Player of the Year after leading the Pacers with 18 goals and three assists for 39 points.  A First-Team All-CSAC selection, Hanselman captained the Pacers to a 14-3-1 overall record and an unbeaten 9-0-1 CSAC regular season record.  The Pacers fell to Cabrini College 1-0 in overtime in the CSAC Championship game.

Hanselman, the daughter of Jim and Betty Hanselman, improved each of her four seasons as a Pacer.  After a freshman campaign in 2006 where she ranked second on the team in scoring with four goals and four assists, she nearly doubled her goal scoring in 2007 with a seven goal performance.  In 2008, Hanselman had a breakout year despite missing nearly 50% of games due to a concussion.  Despite playing in only 12 of 23 games, Hanselman led the Pacers with nine goals and two assists for 20 points and was named Second Team All-CSAC.

Barker, who in 2008 became the first Marywood player (male of female) to be named to an NSCAA All-Region team (Second Team), becomes the first Marywood player to repeat as an NSCAA All-Region with a Third Team selection in 2009.  The daughter of Rick and Shelley Barker is a junior tri-captain from Binghamton, New York and was also a CSAC First-Team All-Conference selection.

In 2008, Barker was the CSAC Co-Player of the Year and named First Team All-Conference.  The center-back helped anchor a Pacers' defense which posted seven shutouts, went unbeaten for a program-record 15 games (14-0-1) and posted a 0.89 goals against average and allowed just 16 goals, both program records.  Over the past two years, Marywood has gone 18-1-1 in Conference play and has posted a 24-2-4 Conference mark during Barker's three years.

Hanselman and Barker were joined on the All-Region team by two other CSAC players as Cabrini's Sabina DeGisi and Centenary's Jazmine Farrell were both Third Team selections.
