Scranton, PA – Marywood University’s volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory of King’s College on Saturday in the season-opener for both teams. The Pacers claimed a 25-10 win in the first set and followed with a 25-11 decision in the second set before sealing the win with a 25-10 victory in the third set.

Aston, PA – Marywood University’s volleyball team has been picked to finish sixth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference pre-season coaches’ poll. The Pacers’ earned 73 points in a balloting of the conferences coaches after qualifying for the CSAC playoffs with a 7-4 record in conference play a season ago.

Scranton, PA – Marywood University has become official members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), America’s largest sporting conference. Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation, made the announcement today. Marywood, members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), becomes members of the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.

Scranton, PA - Christopher Summa has been named as Marywood University's Head Volleyball Coach in an announcement made by Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation. Summa, the program's Head Coach for the 2007 season, will be returning for his second stint as the Pacers' mentor. In 2007, Summa led the Pacers to a 7-17 overall record including a 3-8 mark in CSAC action.

Aston, PA - 66 Marywood University student-athletes have been named to the 2009 CSAC Fall All-Academic Team according to an announcement made today by the commissioner's office, the most of the conference's 12 institutions. All seven of Marywood's fall sports teams placed at least five student-athletes on the squad which recognizes excellence on the field as well as in the classroom.
