Scranton, PA - Kellina Yarrish has been named the Assistant Coach of Marywood University's field hockey team according to an announcement made today by Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation. Yarrish joins first-year Head Coach Megan Bullock on the Pacers' sideline following an outstanding playing career at Keystone College.

Aston, PA - Marywood University's field hockey team has been picked to finish fifth in a balloting of league head coaches. Cabrini College has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches' poll. After being seeded 4th going into post-season, the Cavaliers battled their way through the CSAC Championship to earn the champion title last year. Cabrini received four out of nine first place votes earning them 74 points in the poll. CSAC Runner-ups, Neumann University received three first place votes and finished in a close second place with 72 points.

Megan Bullock has been named Marywood University’s head field hockey coach  according to an announcement made today by Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation.  Bullock served as the assistant coach last season for Carla Chiampi, who recently resigned after three seasons.

Scranton, PA – Marywood University has become official members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), America’s largest sporting conference.  Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation, made the announcement today.  Marywood, members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), becomes members of the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.

Aston, PA – 66 Marywood University student-athletes have been named to the 2009 CSAC Fall All-Academic Team according to an announcement made today by the commissioner’s office, the most of the conference’s 12 institutions. All seven of Marywood’s fall sports teams placed at least five student-athletes on the squad which recognizes excellence on the field as well as in the classroom.

Radnor, PA - Freshman goalkeeper Jamie Bowman registered a career high 17 saves to keep fifth seeded Marywood University alive but fourth seeded Cabrini College advanced past the visiting Pacers 1-0 on strokes in Saturday's CSAC first round game.  The Cavaliers (9-10) opponent in the semifinals will be either top-seeded Keystone College or second seeded Gwynedd-Mercy depending on the result of today's other first round game.  Marywood closes their season with an 8-9 mark.

Aston, PA – Five Marywood University field hockey players earned recognition Friday afternoon as the Colonial States Athletic Conference announced the recipients of First, Second and Honorable Mention All-Conference teams and individual sportsmanship awards. Brittany Beaton was named First Team All-Conference while Emily Wentzel and Maggie Brittain earned Second Team honors. Carrie Glenn and Morgan Walsh both earned spots on the Honorable Mention squad.

Scranton, PA – Marywood University rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit and Brittany Beaton got the game-winning goal with seven minutes left in overtime as the host Pacers topped visiting Cedar Crest College 3-2 in overtime Wednesday afternoon in Scranton. The Pacers leveled their overall and conference records with the win as they now stand at 8-8 on the year and 4-4 in CSAC play. The Falcons fell to 5-11 (2-5 CSAC) with the loss.

Scranton, PA - Junior Brittany Beaton had two goals and an assist and Marywood University held off a late rally from Misericordia University as the host Pacers beat the Cougars 3-2 in non-conference field hockey action Monday afternoon in Scranton. Marywood improves to 7-8 on the year while Misericordia falls to 6-10 with the loss.
