2.20.2010 | Men's Basketball
Scranton, PA - Marywood University used an early second half run to break open an otherwise tight game and the Pacers went on to down Philadelphia Biblical University in the season finale for both teams, 76-63. Marywood closes the 2009-10 campaign with a 10-15 record (6-12 CSAC) while the Crimson Eagles finish at 7-18 (5-13 CSAC). Marywood honored seniors Chadli Charlot, Jerome Gosney and Sidney Tharpe prior to the game.

Langhorne, PA - Philadelphia Biblical University hit a shot at the end of regulation to force overtime and from there the host Crimson Eagles took over and claimed a 84-77 win over visiting Marywood University Thursday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action. Both teams now stand at 5-12 in CSAC play. Marywood falls to 9-15 overall while PBU improved to 7-17.

Scranton, PA - Marywood University's men's basketball game versus Philadelphia Biblical University, originally scheduled for this Wednesday, February 17, has been moved to Saturday February 20th.  Game time will be at 3:00 pm in Marywood's Insalaco Arena and will follow the women's game against PBU at 1:00 pm.

Scranton, PA - Marywood University placed five players in double-figures and connected on nearly 53% of their shots from the floor as the host Pacers downed Berkeley College of New Jersey 79-61 in non-conference men's basketball action Sunday afternoon in Scranton. The win moves Marywood to 9-13 on the year while the Bulldogs fall to 3-19.

Radnor, PA - Senior forward Kevin Misevicius scored 25 points, including the 1,000th of his Cabrini career, in the 24th-ranked Cabrini men’s basketball team’s 91-77 win against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Marywood University Saturday afternoon at Nerney Field House. The Cavaliers have reached the 20-win plateau for the 17th time program history while the loss, coupled with a Centenary win over Immaculata Saturday, eliminates Marywood from any possible berth into post-season play.

Rosemont, PA - Freshman D.J. Strayhorn netted a career-high 32 points and Marywood University rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to force overtime as the Pacers defeated host Rosemont College 79-76 in overtime to pick up a key CSAC win.  The win keeps the Pacers playoff hopes alive and moves Marywood to 5-10 in conference play and 8-13 overall.  The lost dropped the host Ravens to 5-16 (3-11 CSAC) and gives the two teams a season split.

Scranton, PA – Marywood University basketball players Lauren Rogan and Sidney Tharpe have been honored by the Colonial States Athletic Conference for their performances on the court last week. Rogan was named the CSAC Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week while Tharpe was named to the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honor Roll as both teams won a pair of conference games.

Scranton, PA – Two former Marywood University athletic standouts were inducted as the 14th class of honorees into Marywood University’s prestigious Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 6, 2010 on the University’s campus. Anthony Mauro and Beth Eisenhower Fuller were selected for induction by the University’s Hall of Fame Committee and approved by Marywood University President Sister Anne Munley, IHM, Ph.D.

Scranton, PA - Marywood University's women's and men's basketball doubleheader versus Philadelphia Biblical University scheduled for Saturday, February 6 has been postponed. Expected snow accumulation in the Philadelphia area has made it unsafe for PBU to travel north. The men's game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 17 at 7pm while the women's game will be played Wednesday, February 10 at 6pm.  The Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, which will see the 14th class of inductees being honored, will still take place.
