Scranton, PA – Marywood University has become official members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), America’s largest sporting conference. Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation, made the announcement today. Marywood, members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), becomes members of the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.

Aston, PA – Forty six Marywood University winter and spring student-athletes have been honored as the Colonial States Athletic Conference announced the Spring 2010 All-Academic Team. “It is my pleasure to announce that 483 Colonial States Athletic Conference student-athletes have achieved the level of academic success necessary to be named to the Spring 2010 CSAC All-Academic Team,” said CSAC Commissioner, Amy Friedman. “These student-athletes have assumed leadership roles on their campuses by demonstrating that a complete education includes both academics and athletics.”

Aston, PA - Freshman D.J. Strayhorn and senior Sidney Tharpe were each named to the All-Conference team as the Colonial States Athletic Conference released announced the end of the year award winners Monday afternoon. Strayhorn and Tharpe were both named to the Conference team as Honorable Mention selections while senior Jerome Gosney was named to the CSAC Sportsmanship Team. Cabrini College swept the special awards as Kevin Misevicius was named the Player of the Year, Corey Lemons took home Rookie of the Year honors and Cavaliers' coach Marcus Kahn was named the Coach of the Year.

Scranton, PA - Marywood University used an early second half run to break open an otherwise tight game and the Pacers went on to down Philadelphia Biblical University in the season finale for both teams, 76-63. Marywood closes the 2009-10 campaign with a 10-15 record (6-12 CSAC) while the Crimson Eagles finish at 7-18 (5-13 CSAC). Marywood honored seniors Chadli Charlot, Jerome Gosney and Sidney Tharpe prior to the game.

Langhorne, PA - Philadelphia Biblical University hit a shot at the end of regulation to force overtime and from there the host Crimson Eagles took over and claimed a 84-77 win over visiting Marywood University Thursday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action. Both teams now stand at 5-12 in CSAC play. Marywood falls to 9-15 overall while PBU improved to 7-17.
