New York, NY – Mike Castellano, a 2010 graduate of Marywood University and current member of the New York Hudsons of the New York State League, was recently named the NYSL Player of the Week. Through 16 games in the professional development league’s season, Castellano is batting .442 with a .509 on-base percentage.

Scranton, PA – Marywood University has become official members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), America’s largest sporting conference. Dr. Mary Jo Gunning, Director of Athletics and Recreation, made the announcement today. Marywood, members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), becomes members of the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.

Aston, PA – Forty six Marywood University winter and spring student-athletes have been honored as the Colonial States Athletic Conference announced the Spring 2010 All-Academic Team. “It is my pleasure to announce that 483 Colonial States Athletic Conference student-athletes have achieved the level of academic success necessary to be named to the Spring 2010 CSAC All-Academic Team,” said CSAC Commissioner, Amy Friedman. “These student-athletes have assumed leadership roles on their campuses by demonstrating that a complete education includes both academics and athletics.”

Aston, PA - Marywood University catcher Jason Bugno has been named to the All-CSAC Baseball First Team while third baseman Mike Castellano was named to the second team as the Colonial States Athletic Conference announced the end of year award winners as voted on by the league's head coaches. The two seniors were joined on the All-Conference team by classmate David Lewis, who was Marywood's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team.

Scranton, PA - Senior Jeff Cleary pitched a complete game but Gwynedd-Mercy College used two two-run homers to escape Scranton with a 6-3 win over the host Pacers Sunday afternoon. The Griffins improved to 22-13 (13-5 CSAC) and have wrapped up the second seed in the upcoming CSAC playoffs while Marywood's season comes to a close at 11-24 (6-12 CSAC).
